Robot - from the Czech word 'robota' meaning ‘forced labor’, the term was coined in K. Čapek’s play R.U.R. ‘Rossum’s Universal Robots’ (1920).

 Android – from the Greek ‘Andros’ meaning 'of man', and ‘Eidos’ meaning 'form'. We give this name to any machine made to imitate the appearance and actions of humans.
